Super U’s melodramatic acoustic pop sound will have us all looking to the summer, with a hint of Belle and Sebastian and Camera Obscura, these emerging indie-folksters offer cool melodies, songs of beauty that saunter and swagger, with gentle hooks and breezy vocals.

Strong vocals, the reinvention of the flute and witty, tale-telling lyrics atop slick, literate music – where have this lot been hiding? – James Ellis, Metro

Since forming at the start of 2009, Ross & the Wrongens have performed at many great venues including o2 Academy Islington, Barfly Camden, The Dublin Castle Camden, as well as a Brighton Calling gig at The Providence. Their song ‘That Magic Feeling’ was nominated for best pop song at the Exposure Music Awards 2009, and received air play on BBC Kent Introducing, as well as other various internet radio stations. We can’t wait to see them take to the Brighton Calling stage again, transorming their indie pop sound into a no doubt fantastic and entertaining acoustic set.

Adam Kidd has been playing in the Brighton music scene for over a decade, starting as a teenager in Rift before playing in several local acts including Pornography, Kiyomori and Xam Xam. ‘The Adam Kidd Band’ fuses latin and reggae rhythms with indie pop rock to create a unique sound. A versatile musician and prolific song-writer, Adam writes songs that celebrate diversity in the way his favourite British groups and song-writers do. Bands like radiohead, blur, The Clash and the Beatles who always sound different from song to song and yet they all have instantly recognisable identities.
